It's cute that, after more than a few millennia, that's how Ganymede reacts. He shouldn't be surprised to know that he's gorgeous, no, but the gesture says a lot about his personality. Armand smiles at it, his expression tinted with fondness.
He, by contrast, doesn't have it in him to be modest. Armand always likes compliments, honest or not, but he hardly reacts to certain ones that are only said to him with the intent to seek something more. That's been overdone, and he now has the strength to decide who is deserving or not of his touch. Maybe that's why he likes Daniel's brand of praising—hardly being able to be considered as such and mostly consisting of bitter or sarcastic comments with double meaning.
"No point in wearing anything that makes you uncomfortable then. I was never fond of dresses myself, but I do like silk stockings still. And lace." He does not wear any of those often; in fact, he really doesn't remember when was the last time he had lacy underwear. He tried it, for Louis, some time ago to spice things up, but the man wasn't very appreciative of it, so Armand didn't bother again.
"You're a romantic." It's not an accusation, but it's maybe not a compliment either. Armand has bitter thoughts about love. "The scars and the unsettling looks can be too much for many. Most don't want a partner with that much baggage. That said, I agree that some imperfections have their appeal, especially for people like us who are frozen in time. Grey hairs, laughter or stress lines around eyes, a bit of a tummy, a personality with just the right amount of viciousness to be wickedly interesting..."
He really needs to stop describing Daniel, more so to a man who knows him as well. Armand looks around the room, they have stayed here for a little while now, and the guard in the corner hired to look over the painting safe is glancing at them occasionally. Of course, Armand could steer him into ignoring them with a telepathic command, but perhaps they should visit the next room.
"You really met the most interesting fellows. It's a pity you couldn't keep the memento. Perhaps we should look around and see if there is any chance that it's in this museum." After that, he nods. "I know not all the features match, and you are way more captivating in person, but I was thinking the David."
