the_cupbearer: (laughter)

"Doing the world and yourself a favor?" Ganymede chuckles, quite at ease with the notion of his friend killing--probably with extreme predjudice--these pirates and pillagers. He has done the same himself, for varying reasons. He doesn't mind knowing someone else has the proven capability for violence: to be capable of dealing harm is one of the requisites for being peaceful. Anything less is to be harmless.

"It...has taken effort on my part, and I make no bones about that. Society changes, and either people change with it, or they fall behind, and I can't say I have always been in the former category." He's fallen behind plenty of times and he doesn't often adapt the easiest. It took him years to stop telling people who he actually was, and or them to stop thinking he was insane.

He knows that their extraordinary ages have taken a toll on Armand, and it will maintain that toll as his friend grows older, unless he can find something he likes enough to keep him occupied, so the enormity of change will be easier, and taken in smaller pieces. And in some ways that grieves Ganymede, but he retains hope. "I know it's difficult to trust someone that could mean you no harm, but I promise, I don't. I could gain very little by hurting you that would not lose me something dearer."

Ganymede laughs at the gentle-hearted jibe about being royalty, shaking his head. "It has been a long time since I was anything royal," he murmurs. "But I remember it. they're supposed to have exhibits from around where I lived here. Something new and on loan," he suggests. "Maybe it'll give you some good visuals, though I can't promise anything about me being in any of it. With or without clothes," he adds teasingly.
